This is a placeholder. Official terms will address intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law. The statement of scope below, however, applies now.
Scope
The Institute accredits advisory firms and certifies its own open-source reference smart contracts. The Institute does not:
- issue determinations of permissibility, or confer any “certified” status, in respect of third-party tokens;
- provide investment, financial, or legal advice; or
- provide a personal ruling service.
Any determination in respect of a specific project is issued by qualified persons at an accredited firm, within a defined scope. Categorizations, research outputs, and consultation drafts are descriptive and are not to be read as certification, endorsement, or a determination of permissibility.
The Institute is in a pre-operational phase: its standards, committees, accreditation programme, and legal registration are under development.
